About Aled Williams

MbChB, MRCGP, MPH+TM, FACEM

Aled trained as a GP in the UK before moving to Australia where he undertook speciality training in Emergency Medicine. During his career he has worked in a range of emergency departments from small regional to tertiary and has undertaken several medical leadership roles as well as undertaking missions for the Red Cross in Africa and Afghanistan. He is currently a clinical lead for WA’s Emergency Telemedicine Service. His interests are around systems in medicine and the interface between virtual and in person health care.

About Tony Celenza

Director

MB BS, MClinEd, FACEM, FRCEM

Professor Tony Celenza has 25 years of experience working in a Perth tertiary hospital as a specialist emergency physician and has also worked as a rural acute physician. He has interests in clinical education, medical research and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Tony has developed and conducts upskilling courses and workshops for rural health practitioners including for remote area medics. He is also Head of Discipline for Emergency Medicine at the University of Western Australia’s medical school.

About Mark Salib

MBChB FACRRM DRCOG DA DTM&H FACEM

Mark worked in remote areas throughout Australia for many years as a GP proceduralist including 3 years with the RFDS before training as an Emergency Department Specialist. He currently works as a Consultant in the Fiona Stanley Hospital Emergency Department. His specialty interests are critical airway management, retrieval and education

About Mark Little

MB BS, DTM&H, MPH&TM, FACEM

Mark is an emergency physician and clinical toxicologist working in Cairns. He is a senior leader of the Australia Medical Assistance Teams (AUSMAT) and has deployed to many crises in our region. He has led teams to the Christchurch earthquake, Tacloban Philippines, PNG, Samoa, Indonesia, and the Middle East. He runs an international humanitarian course in the USA and is an editor of medical textbooks and a researcher with many publications.

About Mike Cadogan

BA MA MBChB FACEM FFSEM

After completing surgical training in the UK Mike moved to Australia in 1999 where he trained in emergency medicine, toxicology and sports medicine. He currently works at a major Perth tertiary Emergency Department and is a former sports doctor for the Western Force and Wallabies rugby union teams. Mike is a co-author of several textbooks including On Call and Emergency Medicine Diagnosis and Management. He is also Co-founder and chief medical editor of the very popular medical education website Life in the Fast Lane (LITFL).

About Ian Norton

MB BCh BAO, AFRCSI, DIH, DTM, FACEM

Dr Ian Norton is a specialist emergency physician with a wealth of experience in coordinating emergency health responses to disease outbreaks and disasters. He was head of the WHO’s Emergency Medical Team (EMT) Initiative in Geneva from 2014-20. During this time, he led responses to Ebola, Diphtheria and Measles outbreaks as well as to earthquakes, cyclones, and conflicts. Currently Ian runs the health crisis management organisation ‘Respond Global’ and works in the Emergency Department of the Noosa Private Hospital.
